Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project

For 43 years, our charity has been dedicated to relieving poverty, distress, and hardship among families and individuals in the Brighton area. Our mission is to foster social inclusion and drive social change towards a fairer, more inclusive society. We strive to offer more opportunities to the disadvantaged, aiming to improve their lives and create a supportive environment where they feel acknowledged and valued.
Our freely accessible, multi-functional community centre serves as a hub for community involvement and support. We provide a comprehensive package of practical, volunteer-run services to help people combat the effects of poverty, isolation, and disadvantage. These services include:
• Family support with playroom
• Computing and education classes
• Daily hot meals, social inclusion activities
• A safe and welcoming day centre space
• Welfare, Benefits and Housing advice
• Laundry, Clothing and food distribution
• Volunteering

Why do you support the Living Wage?

Our mission is to foster social inclusion and drive social change towards a fairer, more inclusive society. This means that people are paid a fair wage to enable them to, at the very least, afford the basics of shelter, warmth and food. This is especially important in a city like ours with a high cost of living.
